This product is special and delicate, therefore it requires particular care and attention. In order to preserve the original look and feel of the product, we recommend that you observe the following instructions to take care of leather watch straps.
How to take Care of Leather Watch Straps
Avoid leaving your leather watch straps in direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight or high intensity source of light can lead to a discolouring, fading and deformation of the leather, which cannot be corrected afterwards. Avoid exposure to very wet, damp or humid conditions as well as high temperatures. Water can be harmful if it is allowed to penetrate the leather and can lead to the appearance of bubbles or marks which cannot be removed.
Avoid soaking the leather or applying strong detergents. Avoid ‘fading’ the leather with products such as waxes, polishes or saddle soaps. This may make the surface of the leather sticky, attracting dirt and causing irreversible damage. Avoid washing the fabric lining. Some skins, such as pony, should be handled with particular care. Due to their untreated nature, some colour transfer may occur when they come into contact with light-coloured clothing and fabrics. Repeated friction may cause some of the fine hairs to wear. Leather watch bands should be protected from the exposure to water at all times.
How to clean leather Watch Straps
Meridio recommend cleaning the exterior leather with a soft cloth and warm, mild soapy water. Ensure cloth is carefully and thoroughly wrung out so it feels very slightly dump and gently wipe the leather. Please make sure that you use only clean water.
The leather used on Meridio watch straps has been carefully selected for its finest qualities. In order to preserve the beauty and elegance of the leather, Meridio uses aniuline tanning methods, which give a more natural finish, colour vibrancy and transparency and help maintain the softness of the leather.
Any thin veins, slight scars and creases that may be visible on the leather are natural and simply a sign of the delicate treatments the leather goes through. Leather treated in this manner is sensitive to water, humidity, grease and exposure to intense light.
