Interview with Serena Sertore a Social media influencer and video blogger
A friendly and funny girl fell in love with tech many years ago. From that time Serena Sertore tried to cultivate her passion first as a nerdy and curious girl and actually as a tech blogger and influencer marketing in every product that deals with technology. Because tech is not only a man’s stuff but something that girls and women appreciate as much as men. And as regard as tech Serena has no doubts. She would like to become a point of reference for those who nourish their own passion especially as regard to design and style. A few words to describe Serena Sertore that followed for Meridioband the just finished MWC in Barcelona with her funny and smart style.
No more words now, let’s listen to Serena Sertore.
What tell you us about yourself?
I have been interested in tech since when I was young. I was a computer geek and I got fun in fixing electronic devices and maybe that passion is borrowed from my South Korean’s genes.
And when did you start your job ?
Time after time I realized that using tech devices was not enough anymore for me. I wanted to share my passion with other people. Such an awareness was very important for me: a kind of turning point. After that I opened my first Youtube Channel to stay in touch with more tech lovers to share with them my opinions and my tips.
What are the hardest features of your job
Competition is very hard today more than some years ago. It’s not easy to surf on the wave today. Everybody can take pictures with smartphones and speak about everything. So it’s take a lot time to create your personal branding to stand out among the crowd. I also need several devices every week and as a result of that I have to send many mails and to do frequent market researches.
Is it hard to stay always online?
It’s part of my job but sometimes it can be hard to stay always connected. I have to use my smart devices to be in touch with my followers and to take pictures and videos and as a result of that it can be difficult to seize the day. Carpe diem as it was used to say in old times.
What is the smartest product that have you seen?
Time after time the so called WOW effect is becoming weaker and weaker. I see so many devices that it’s hard for me be surprised. But last year at MWC in Barcelona I had the possibility to see a concept car: Peugeot Instinct. That was really amazing both design and accessories were a good example of what future will bring to us.
Do you know your audience?
Sure I know and I think that it’s important to stay in touch with my users because behind every click there is a person who dedicates part of his time to follow and support me.
And do you answer their questions?
Yes I do. I do the utmost to give them feedback because such an exchange is important for me to build a link with them. Moreover I nourish myself with that sharing which helps me to improve my job.
What about projects for your future?
That’s a great question!
I hope to carry on my job and collaborate with companies connected with the tech world as Meridio. I would like to become a point of reference for those who like technology especially from an aesthetic point of view, women above all because tech is not only a man’s stuff!
Thank you very much Serena and we hope to see you again at the main tech events throughout the world to show off the best tech news on the market. We just need women like you!
